Not too long ago, I was preparing to do a video conference (Google Hangouts) in the morning and a Skype interview in the afternoon. Normally I was do this using the stock microphone on either my iPad or whatever laptop I had at that time. I would always get the complaint that I wasn't speaking clearly into the microphone or they can hear my fan (or heater depending on the weather) blowing in the background. I realized that if I was going to do this on a regular basis, I would have to invest in a microphone. But now just any microphone but one that I can take with me in case I have to travel. After doing some research I came up with this, the Samson Go Mic Compact USB Microphone.
This is a portable USB Condenser Microphone that is Plug and Play on PC or a Mac meaning no additional drivers are required. It's custom compact design clips to a laptop or sits on a desk. You can use it to record music, podcasting (which I love), and even field recording. It's ideal for voice recognition software, iChat, VoIP and web casting. It provides a great clear sound that is portable and very handy for podcasters that are constantly on the go.
